About this stay

Your Seoul Retreat

You know what caught me off guard about Bliss Cottage? The name actually undersells it. I mean, when you hear “cottage,” you’re probably picturing something quaint but maybe a bit cramped – I certainly was. But this 4-star spot has that perfect balance of intimate charm without making you feel like you’re bumping into furniture every time you turn around.

The whole place has this lived-in elegance that’s hard to fake. The common areas feel like someone’s well-traveled aunt decorated them – and I mean that in the best possible way. There are these gorgeous vintage rugs that look like they have stories, and the kind of comfortable seating where you actually want to linger with your morning coffee instead of rushing off. Honestly, the 8.4 rating makes total sense once you’re there. It’s not trying to be flashy or over-the-top luxurious, but everything just… works. The staff genuinely seems to care about getting the details right, which you notice in small ways – like how they remember your name after one conversation, or how the room temperature is actually comfortable when you walk in (you’d be surprised how many places mess that up).

What really won me over was the attention to comfort without the fussiness. The rooms have this cozy sophistication – think quality linens and thoughtful lighting, but nothing so precious you’re afraid to actually use it. The bathroom setup is particularly well done; good water pressure and enough space to spread out your stuff without everything falling into the sink. I stayed during what seemed like a busy period, but the place never felt chaotic or overwhelmed. Check-in was smooth, and the sound levels were surprisingly good – you get the sense of other guests without feeling like you’re sharing walls. Actually, the evenings were pretty peaceful, which isn’t always guaranteed at smaller properties where sound can travel. If you’re someone who values that sweet spot between personal service and professional operation, this place delivers. It’s got enough character to feel special but runs efficiently enough that you’re not dealing with amateur hour hiccups during your stay.

Best hotels in Seoul range from luxurious properties in the upscale Gangnam district to boutique hotels with stunning views of Namsan Tower and the Han River.

The hotel location is perfect as its close to the palace and you can find lots of cute cafes in the area too. The night life is amazing as resturants are open till late and you'll see local and tourists enjoy good food and drinks. I usually sleep poorly in hotels, but the bed was very comfortable, so I slept like a baby everyday. The private bathtube was a great experience too. Would recommend staying in the hanok for atleast two nights. It's in a quiet neighborhood, and you can hear the bird sing until evening. Very peaceful indeed.
