Baiton Seoul Dongdaemun
Your Seoul Retreat
First Impressions
Walking into Baiton Seoul Dongdaemun, you immediately get that feeling of stepping into something that’s been thoughtfully put together without trying too hard. The lobby has this clean, modern vibe that feels distinctly Korean — not flashy, just well-designed with warm wood accents and plenty of natural light. I mean, it’s a three-star property, so you’re not expecting marble everywhere, but honestly the space feels more polished than some pricier places I’ve stayed. The staff greets you in that genuinely friendly Korean way, and check-in is refreshingly straightforward.
Location & Neighborhood
Here’s where this hotel really shines — the location is actually fantastic for exploring Seoul. You’re right in Jung-gu, which puts you walking distance from both Dongdaemun’s famous shopping districts and some of the city’s best traditional markets. What I love about this spot is that you can easily hit Dongdaemun Design Plaza in the morning, then wander over to Myeongdong for dinner without dealing with Seoul’s subway crowds. The area comes alive at night too, especially around the fashion wholesale markets, so there’s always something happening when you step outside.
The Room Experience
The rooms at Baiton Seoul Dongdaemun are compact but smartly designed — you know how Korean hotels can make small spaces feel surprisingly functional. Everything’s clean and modern, with decent bedding and a bathroom that’s actually bigger than I expected. The windows offer nice city views, and if you’re lucky enough to get a higher floor, you can see some of Seoul’s skyline stretching out toward the mountains. Air conditioning works well (crucial in Seoul summers), and the Wi-Fi is solid throughout the building.
Practical Perks
What really makes this place work is all the little things they get right. There’s a convenience store literally next door — which, trust me, you’ll appreciate when you want late-night snacks or need to grab drinks before heading out. The hotel provides basic amenities without fuss, and housekeeping keeps everything spotless. I was pleasantly surprised by how quiet the rooms stay despite being in such a busy area of the city. The elevators are quick too, which sounds minor until you’re rushing to catch the subway during morning rush hour.
Why Guests Love It
Couples particularly seem to gravitate toward this hotel, and I can see why — it strikes that perfect balance between being centrally located and offering a peaceful retreat from Seoul’s intensity. You’re paying three-star prices but getting an experience that feels more premium, especially considering the prime location. The neighborhood gives you authentic Seoul energy without being overwhelming, and you can easily explore different districts from here. It’s one of those places where you end up spending less time in your room because there’s so much to discover right outside, but when you do return, everything just works the way it should.
Many travelers prefer to book apartments in Seoul through trusted local agencies that provide insider knowledge about the best districts for experiencing the city’s blend of tradition and innovation.

near subway and convenience stores
前台会说流利中文,非常耐心。
Very convenient location. Airport bus stop is just outside the door. Subway is a short walk away.
great hotel, dongdaemun is a great district cause less touristy and has a great local vibe. the hotel has a stop of the airport shuttle just in front of it so its a great location. overall nice hotel nice room and great price
they give water everyday, cleaning staff is so nice :)
Very close to the subway, it's also convenient to get to through the airport limousine and you're able to walk to the DDP through the underground (metro system) in around 10 minutes.
Great location and clean rooms. It wasn't spacious, but there were enough space for 2 large suitcases. Also it was quiet and the internet connection was good. Great place for the first visit — all main tourist locations are nearby.
Staff were great and let us store our luggage two days earlier than our check in date. The location is good, just a 10 min walk from Gwangjang market and fast food chains like Lotteria, Burger King and McDonalds. Also a short walk to the nearest subway station and a bus into Myeongdong that you can get on just round the corner.
The toilet and shower facilities were great. Air con worked best and the bed was comfortable.
Wonderful location. On and off stop for ICN airport is just at the hotel. Very easy for transportation.
Room space is enough.
Location close to Gwangjang Market, DDP and not too far from Myeongdong area. There is shuttle bus 6001 direct from the airport and stop in front of the hotel.
Large bathroom with big bathtub.
Presidential family room was very spacious
