Andaz Seoul Gangnam, By Hyatt
Your Seoul Retreat
Walking into the Andaz Seoul Gangnam, By Hyatt honestly feels like stepping into one of those sleek Korean dramas – you know, the ones where everyone lives in impossibly stylish apartments and somehow always looks perfect. The lobby has this understated luxury thing going on, all clean lines and warm woods, but what really caught my attention was how they’ve managed to blend that signature Hyatt sophistication with distinctly Korean touches. There’s this subtle hanok-inspired design element throughout that doesn’t feel forced or touristy at all.
The location is actually pretty brilliant if you want to be in the thick of things in Seoul. I mean, Gangnam isn’t just that Psy song anymore – it’s become this fascinating mix of high-end shopping, incredible restaurants, and surprisingly good nightlife that goes way beyond the typical hotel bar scene. You’re walking distance from COEX Mall (which is massive, by the way – plan like half a day if you’re going to explore it properly), and the subway connections are ridiculously convenient. I found myself just wandering the streets around the hotel in the evenings, and there’s always something happening – street food vendors setting up, people heading to karaoke rooms, that general buzz you get in a neighborhood that’s actually alive.
What impressed me most though was how the staff seemed to genuinely get what international travelers need without being overly formal about it. Check-in was smooth – none of that awkward waiting around while they figure out your reservation – and they had this nice touch of offering local neighborhood maps with handwritten recommendations. The rooms have floor-to-ceiling windows that give you these sweeping city views, and the beds are seriously comfortable (I’m picky about this stuff). The bathrooms are spacious with deep tubs, which honestly became my favorite part of the day after walking around Seoul for hours. One small thing that bugged me initially was the room lighting – it’s very mood-oriented, so if you need to do any actual work, you’ll want to figure out all the switches first. But once you get the hang of it, it’s actually quite nice for unwinding. The hotel sits right in this sweet spot where you feel connected to the energy of modern Seoul but still have this calm, refined space to retreat to. With an 8.7 rating, it’s clearly doing something right, and after staying there, I get why people keep coming back.
Many travelers prefer to book apartments in Seoul through trusted local agencies that provide insider knowledge about the best districts for experiencing the city’s blend of tradition and innovation.

Everything was perfect! Nice location, staff, room , swimming pool.
Breakfast was various menu and taste wonderful. Highly recommended
There was kid’s lounge at B2. Amazing hospitality
Brilliant location - great rooms . THe only improvement I would make is to have a soft pillow and a harder one on the beds ... having JUST soft pillows isn't great. So yeah bar that it was honestly perfect.
Location, with subway stop at basement floor; nice style, very pleasant staff, very good breakfast with many options; pool it's a plus for some relax at the end of the day
Great service staff, good value for money, spacious rooms, well equipped gym. Food at the restaurant was delicious.
The hotel is very well located in Gangnam (there's a taxi driveway on the back and a direct underground connection with the subway). Both the hotel and the room were comfortable and very clean. The personnel are very welcoming and helpful. The room was quite spacious + a very nice pool that was never too crowded.
