Amid Hotel Seoul Overview
I’ll be honest – when I first walked into Amid Hotel Seoul, I wasn’t expecting much from what looked like another mid-range business hotel from the outside. But you know what? Sometimes these places surprise you, and this one definitely did. The lobby has this clean, minimalist vibe that actually feels more sophisticated than sterile, if that makes sense. There’s something about the lighting and the way they’ve arranged the seating areas that makes you want to linger a bit longer than usual.
The rooms are where this place really shines though. I mean, sure, they’re not massive by Western standards – this is Seoul after all, where space is premium – but everything feels thoughtfully designed. The beds are genuinely comfortable (I’m picky about mattresses), and honestly, the shower pressure was better than half the expensive hotels I’ve stayed at. What I really appreciated was how quiet it stayed at night, even though you’re right in the heart of the city. The windows do a solid job of keeping the street noise out, which is no small feat in a place that never really sleeps.
Here’s what I think sets this hotel apart from the typical Seoul business hotel experience – the staff actually seems to care about getting things right. Check-in was smooth, they had decent English skills without making you feel like you’re inconveniencing them, and when I had a question about getting to Hongdae late one night, the front desk guy took the time to write down the subway directions in both Korean and English. Little touches like that matter when you’re navigating a new city. The breakfast isn’t going to win any awards, but it’s solid – mix of Korean and Western options that’ll fuel you up for a day of exploring. I actually found myself looking forward to the Korean side dishes they rotate daily. One small thing that bugged me was the elevators can get a bit crowded during peak times, but that’s pretty standard for hotels in this category. Overall, with an 8.6 rating, this place delivers exactly what it promises – reliable comfort without breaking the bank, in a city where that combination is harder to find than you’d think.

Amid Hotel is a perfect place for living in Seoul.
A cozy room with everything you might need! Every day, you have two bottles of water in the fridge, green tea, and coffee (a kettle is in the room). Very comfortable bed with snow-white bed linens and towels.
The staff is excellent: helpful and very friendly!
I like the quarter with many shops, restaurants, and subway stations. Changdeokgung Palace is very close (5-7 minutes on foot).
The breakfast has different options: you can eat Korean and European meals.
Thank you very much!Peter from United States (9/10)
