Aiden by Best Western Cheongdam
Your Seoul Retreat
Look, I’ll be honest – when I first walked up to Aiden by Best Western Cheongdam, I wasn’t expecting much from a 3-star place in one of Seoul‘s priciest neighborhoods. But you know what? Sometimes being wrong feels pretty good. This little hotel sits right in the heart of Cheongdam-dong, and I mean *right* in the thick of things – you’re literally surrounded by those designer boutiques and fancy galleries that make this part of Seoul famous. The building itself is nothing flashy from the outside, sort of blends into the urban landscape, but that actually works in its favor because you don’t feel like you’re staying at some tourist trap.
What really got me was how the staff seemed to actually care about getting things right. Check-in was smooth (I arrived around 2 PM on a Wednesday, so maybe I just hit a good time), and the front desk guy – spoke perfect English, which was a relief – gave me this whole rundown of the neighborhood that felt genuine, not scripted. The rooms are clean and modern without trying too hard to be trendy, if that makes sense. I mean, you’re not getting marble bathrooms or anything, but everything works properly and the bed was actually comfortable, which honestly matters more than fancy amenities when you’ve been walking around Gangnam all day. The air conditioning was solid too, which you’ll appreciate if you’re visiting during Seoul’s brutal summer months.
Here’s the thing about staying in Cheongdam – it’s expensive to eat and drink around here, but you’re also walking distance from some incredible spots that most tourists never find. There’s this tiny traditional market tucked away about five minutes from the hotel where locals actually shop, and you can grab amazing street food for a fraction of what you’d pay at the touristy places in Myeongdong. The hotel doesn’t have its own restaurant, but honestly, with all the options within a few blocks, you don’t need it. Plus, there’s a convenience store right downstairs – Korean convenience stores are basically small supermarkets, so you’re set for snacks and drinks. The area gets pretty quiet after 10 PM on weeknights, which surprised me given how central everything is, so if you’re someone who needs absolute silence to sleep, you’ll probably be fine. The subway station is about a seven-minute walk, maybe ten if you’re dragging luggage, and from there you can get anywhere in the city pretty easily. For a 3-star hotel with an 8.3 rating, the Aiden delivers exactly what it promises – a clean, comfortable base in an upscale neighborhood without the upscale price tag.

The room is ok size and the bed is large, likely to be 2 twinbed in one. The staff can speak english and helpful for calling taxi to airport. There is bus stop in front of the hotel.

Breakfast was really good
Well-located, great amenities in the rooms, great on-site bar, great views. Traffic noise as raised in other reviews was not an issue.
Great location, really central with easy public transport access outside. Lots of convenience stores as well as food places close by too. Hotel was clean and well-maintained. Wifi was great for remote work. Staff were helpful and pleasant when needed.
