The owner – or maybe the manager, I never quite figured out which – actually sat down with me on my first day and mapped out the best routes to get around, including some local shortcuts I never would have found on my own. Parking is surprisingly easy too, which is rare for places in this price range. They’ve got a small lot behind the building that’s free for guests, and even when that fills up, there’s decent street parking that won’t cost you a fortune. I ended up extending my stay by two nights because, honestly, it just felt comfortable in a way that bigger hotels rarely manage. The rating shows a perfect 10, and while I’m usually skeptical of those kinds of scores, I get it – sometimes a place just nails exactly what it’s trying to be without pretending to be something fancier.
