24 Guesthouse Myeongdong Town
Your Seoul Retreat
You know what? I stumbled across 24 Guesthouse Myeongdong Town during one of those last-minute booking scrambles, and honestly, it turned out to be one of those pleasant surprises you don’t see coming. The place sits right in the thick of Seoul‘s shopping madness – I mean, you’re literally steps away from Myeongdong’s main drag where the street food vendors start setting up around 6 PM and the whole area smells like hotteok and tteokbokki. The building itself is nothing fancy from the outside, sort of blends into that typical Seoul mix of old and new architecture, but that’s actually perfect because you’re not paying tourist-trap prices for a flashy lobby you’ll barely use.
What really got me was how the staff – especially this one guy at the front desk who spoke perfect English – actually knew the neighborhood inside out. He pointed me toward this tiny alley behind Lotte Department Store where locals grab their morning coffee, saved me from the overpriced tourist spots. The rooms are clean and compact (this is Seoul, after all), but they’ve got those little touches that show someone’s paying attention – proper blackout curtains that actually block the neon signs outside, decent water pressure in the shower, and thank god, air conditioning that works without sounding like a helicopter. The Wi-Fi is solid too, which matters when you’re trying to navigate subway maps at 11 PM. I stayed on the fourth floor and could hear some street noise during rush hour, but honestly, that’s just the soundtrack of Myeongdong – by 10 PM it gets pretty quiet.
Here’s the thing that really sold me on this place: it’s positioned perfectly for someone who wants to experience Seoul without feeling like they’re stuck in a tourist bubble. You can walk to Namdaemun Market in about ten minutes if you cut through the right streets, and the Myeongdong subway station is close enough that you’re not dragging luggage up endless stairs. The whole area gets absolutely packed during lunch hours and weekends – I’m talking shoulder-to-shoulder crowds – but early mornings have this almost peaceful vibe where you can actually appreciate the mix of traditional Korean architecture peeking between modern storefronts. The guesthouse doesn’t try to be something it’s not, which I respect. It’s a solid 3-star spot that delivers exactly what you need: a clean bed, helpful service, and a location that puts you right in the middle of one of Seoul’s most vibrant neighborhoods. For the price point and that 8-rating from other travelers, it’s honestly hard to argue with the value, especially when you factor in how much you’ll save just by being able to walk everywhere instead of constantly jumping in taxis.

It is great location and convenience ofwhat you need and good service
Location was great. Having attached bathroom was good. Breakfast was sufficient but as the surrounding have many eating places, no issue at all.
The location is great. It's nearby the station. The room was small but it is perfect for a solo traveller. Everything was also clean.

The location is very good, close to myeongdong and Seoul station.
Staff is very helpful, the rooms are clean.
A lot of eateries below, near to the market.
everything was close by
Very good budget accomodation in Seoul. Nice simple breakfast. Great location next to metro station and near to Seoul Station, but pay attention because similarly named 24 Guesthouse Myeongdong Avenue is on the next street. Only bigger rooms have windows.
A bit hot in the room
Central location, clean room and friendly staff. Breakfast is included. Great for a short stay!
