1012 House Namsan
Your Seoul Retreat
You know what caught me off guard about 1012 House Namsan? It’s one of those places that doesn’t try too hard to impress you with fancy lobbies or marble everything, but somehow ends up being exactly what you didn’t know you needed. I mean, when you’re staying practically in the shadow of Namsan Tower, you expect either tourist trap vibes or something ridiculously overpriced – but this little 3-star gem actually gets it right.
The location is honestly perfect if you’re the type who likes to walk everywhere (which I definitely am). You’re close enough to Seoul‘s main action that you can easily hop over to Myeongdong for some serious shopping or street food adventures, but far enough up the hill that you escape most of the chaos when you want to decompress. I loved how quiet it gets in the evenings – you can actually hear yourself think, which is saying something in this city. The walk to Namsan Seoul Tower is basically right there, and if you’re into those early morning hikes before the crowds hit, you’ll appreciate not having to navigate across the entire city just to get started. Pro tip: the sunrise views from up there are incredible, and staying here means you can actually make it up there without setting your alarm for some ungodly hour.
What really won me over was how the staff seemed to genuinely care about making sure you had what you needed without being pushy about it. Check-in was smooth, the rooms were clean and comfortable (nothing fancy, but everything worked properly – you’d be surprised how often that’s not the case), and honestly, for the price point, I was pretty impressed. The 8.2 rating makes total sense to me because it’s not trying to be something it’s not – it’s just solid, reliable, and well-positioned. The rooms have that efficient Korean design thing going on where somehow they fit everything you need without feeling cramped. I actually slept really well, which doesn’t always happen when I’m traveling. The neighborhood has some great little restaurants tucked away that you probably wouldn’t find unless you were staying right in the area – there’s this tiny place about two blocks down that does incredible kimchi jjigae that I never would have discovered otherwise. If you’re looking for something central but not completely touristy, with decent amenities and a price that won’t make you wince when you check your credit card statement, this place delivers on all those fronts.
Hotels near me in Seoul offer convenient access to the city center, where guests can easily walk to Gyeongbokgung Palace, Myeongdong shopping district, and authentic Korean BBQ restaurants.

Central location, easy access to amenities.
Easy check in and check out. I had a nice big room. Towels, dental kit, slippers were present. Shared kitchen space where you could get free water and hot water
Communication with owner was easy and quick.
The place feels like home. Peaceful. You can cook and wash clothes.
Great location! Close to many attractions.
There were mosquitos in the house because we went in fall. Told the owner and he brought the repellants for us right away. Great service overall!
Location is good.

No bad smell
There is shampoo, toothpaste with toothbrush, hairdryer, and even the trash bags
Great location close to Myengdong. Rooms are spacious and comfortable. Stuff was helpful and ready to help. I appreciate access to laundry room and drier.
*Travelers: 4 people and a child at the end of June for 3 nights.
The location was wonderful for the view and proximity to the subway, stores, and especially the Sky Tower.
We appreciated the large kitchen, though the main table could be larger for a family of 6.
Having the slippers by the door is great but it would be nice to have a couple of slippers for children as well.
The pure water dispenser is fantastic!
Air conditioning in each room.
The rooms were clean.
It is near the subway, bus stations and other attractions. You can find convenience stores nearby. There are things provided for us to use in the guesthouse like the cooking utensils, oven, washing machine, ref etc.
The bed was super comfortable, I liked the balcony which is rare in Korea and the view of Namsan was super pretty! The location was so close to everything and me and my friends enjoyed it a lot!
